Vacation Bible School

Wow! Another year of VBS is done! I can't believe that I did TWO VBS weeks in 2006 -- one in June at Good Shepherd and one in July in St. Paul's...

Last year, Kathleen was 3 months old and that was a great age; she slept in her carseat bucket, was held by Amanda, Sammy, Ana, Donna (the church secretary) -- and was pretty content wherever she was throughout the day.

This year is a completely different story! She's a movin', groovin' God praisin' little toddler! She isn't used to skipping a morning nap (though I've been trying all summer to move her towards one long afternoon nap so she's ready for daycare...in case they just do an afternoon nap)... She got a little tired and a little crabby... but she also had her bff Jodie there to keep her entertained. She wanted to be attached to mommy's hip about 99% of the time, but I was so proud of her on Tuesday when she practically JUMPED into Heidi's arm and into Polly's arm (Heidi's mom)... Wow! She was showing off her walking-by-myself skills and was all too happy to clap, 'sing', talk, dance and do the actions (yes, seriously) for the opening and closing worship.

Did I mention she also decided that snack was wonderful? Especially when she grabbed a styrofoam cup filled with lemonade and tried to 'drink' it. Spills it all down the front of her dress and down the front of my shirt. Ahhhhh, toddlers!!

Be sure to check out the pictures (and, hopefully, the video)!!
